Meet Up: How to Build Community in your Early Childhood Program During Covid-19 Times?

How do we build a community when we are not seeing each other? How do we create relationships? Teachers with teachers? Teachers with parents?

Discuss ways teachers, students, and parents can build community when we will not be seeing each other in person.

**For members only.

Moderator: Ellen Lefkowitz, RJE, Early Childhood Director, Temple Sinai, Oakland, CA

Ellen holds a Joint Masters degree in Jewish Education and Jewish Communal Service from Hebrew Union College. Since receiving her Masters degree, family and early childhood education have been the focus of her work. From 2003-2008, Ellen was the educator at Congregation Beth Am in Los Altos Hills, CA. There she ran a weekly family education program, Hebrew school and helped to establish Gan Ami, the synagogue preschool. For the last two years, Ellen served as the Assistant Director at the Peninsula Jewish Community Center preschool. Her passion for Jewish early childhood education is based on the belief that the core mission of this work is to help children grow and to inspire families to embark on Jewish journeys.

Ellen is originally from Southern California. When not at work, she spends as much time outside as possible whether it is walking, bike riding, running or hiking. Her family and friends are her greatest blessings. She is so excited to be joining the staff of Temple Sinai Preschool!
