ECE-RJ 2020 Kallah: The Art of Intentionality

17 Feb 2020 @ 5:00pm CST
23 Feb 2020 @ 8:00am CST

Mark your calendar for the 2020 ECE-RJ Kallah. in St. Louis MO from February 19th through February 22nd, 2020. Early-bird registration opens the middle of October, 2019. You are not going to want to miss it!

Join more than 150 teachers, directors, lay-leaders, and others who support early childhood programs associated with a Jewish organization for a high-level professional development opportunity exploring intentionality in working with families with young children.

An intentional learning environment is one that fosters activity, feedback and a culture that encourages metacognition, that is, one in which the learner becomes aware of his/her learning process. Participants can learn to create environments suited for intentional learning and develop a reflective practice. Curriculum can be used as a blueprint to organize, plan, and create meaningful experiences.

Kallah will help attendees make deeper connections to their own community and develop a more intentional school environment.

What you will take home:

  1. Reflection on principles and best practices of an intentional learning environment
  2. Guidelines regarding developmentally appropriate early childhood curriculum content and strategies to use in the classroom
  3. Specific ideas and strategies for purposeful interaction with children
  4. Meaning and mindfulness with respect to purposeful play

Rabbi Andrea Goldstein – Rabbi Goldstein is a Rabbi at Congregation Shaare Emeth, the largest Reform synagogue in St. Louis, and serves on the Union of Reform Judaism’s Commission on Social Action and the Central Conference of American Rabbis’ Justice Team.
