Making Families Visible
Partnering with families on Diversity and Inclusion

Join us for this important conversation as we talk about the why and how of engaging with families to create a culture of diversity and inclusion in our schools and synagogues and what that means for long term community engagement.

Presenter:
Aliza Plotkin is an Early Childhood and Family engagement consultant. Growing up the daughter of an early childhood professional she has spent her whole life in the community and is passionate about sharing her experiences and knowledge with others.

After graduating college in 2006 she moved to New Orleans, LA where she directed a non-profit Reggio Inspired childcare center started by parents in the days after Katrina, it was there she learned the importance of the connection between educators and families and how important those relationships are for success.

After moving to Houston and adopting their son in 2015, Aliza started doing consulting work focusing on relationship-based coaching and facilitating. Working with local programs and participating with national organizations such as The Paradigm Project and PJ Library. She currently resides in Houston Texas, with her husband- a URJ Synagogue Jewish Professional and their 4-year-old son. In her free time, she is a passionate lay leader and is currently serving on the National Board of National Council Of Jewish Women.
