We will ask, what messages are sent by the environments we create, what messages are sent by the experiences we provide, and in this unusual time, how can we send messages to each other in ways that create relationships and unity even when we are not physically together?

"Messages fill every moment of our lives. Some are overt and some are hidden. The interpretation of these messages helps us establish our relationships with others and the world around us. Young children already understand quite a lot about messages—messages of belonging, of participation, of collaboration, of celebration. In a school setting, the reciprocal messages sent and received by the children, adults, and the environment create the essence and spirit of our identity. This spirit, we hope, will build a generation of children who observe, ask questions, and act.
Through the lens of Hitorerut (Awakening), and using stories from the daily lives of schools, we will look at our ways of connecting with each other—what are the messages sent between all the participants of schools, both children and adults.
